POLICE: EMERGENCY: 911
Peterborough Police will respond to situations requiring immediate action, such as motor vehicle accidents, domestic disturbances, suspicious vehicles or persons and crimes in progress.

    • NON-EMERGENCIES, e.g., investigation of burglary or vandalism, call the State Police Barracks in Milford: 672-3333.
  • Noise, animal and other nuisance complaints, call the Selectmen (below).

MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION
Renewals yearly, month of your birth; two steps:

  • Pay Sharon and State fees and obtain forms and plate stickers at Sharon Town Clerk (below).
  • Take forms and stickers to any State-certified station for vehicle inspection.

CONTOOCOOK VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT:

TRASH DISPOSAL: Peterborough Recycling Center
Scott Mitchell Drive (off Route 202 North)  924-8095.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays 8:00 A.M.-5:45 P.M.

Obtain permit at the Recycling Center or Peterborough Town Clerk. Purchase required 17 or 33 gallon bags for non-recyclable waste at Peterborough stores; they are not available at the Recycling Center. Call for details.

SEPTIC WASTE DISPOSAL: Inform your septic pumper that the City of Keene Wastewater Treatment Plant accepts domestic septage from the Town of Sharon.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PETERBOROUGH

 Sharon has cooperative agreements with the Town of Peterborough for the Recycling Center, Library, Fire/Rescue and emergency Police services ONLY. Sharon residents must arrange payment of fees to the Peterborough Recreation Department (924-8080) for use of parks or recreational facilities, as the Town of Sharon does not pay for this. Do not call or visit Peterborough offices for any reason not aforementioned. Direct questions to your Selectmen or Selectmen's Assistant (below).

 Vehicle registration, dog licenses (required), vital records, absentee ballots.

SUPERVISORS OF THE CHECKLIST:
All voting at the Sharon Meeting House, 432 Route 123, 11:00 A.M.-7:00 P.M. on election days. Voter registration hours appear in local newspapers, or Call Susan Bowles, 924-9901.

Brush-burning permits are required for safety and proper notification of regional fire lookouts. Residential refuse burning is prohibited by State law.
